Generosity often begins in simple, intentional ways. A parent hands a child a dollar for the collection basket. We give to support a need we care about. We set up recurring gifts. Over time, these choices take root and grow into something lasting, shaping the legacy we leave for our families, our parishes, and the communities we care about.
In this newsletter, we see how legacy is formed in both family life and long-term planning. One story shows how habits of generosity take root within a family and deepen across generations. Another highlights how thoughtful planning creates lasting support for a parish and school. Together, they reveal how faithful stewardship connects what we do today with the impact we hope to carry forward.
We also reflect on the lasting impact of Larry McGough, whose leadership has shaped CCF from its very beginning. Larry believed deeply in the importance of thoughtful, faith-driven generosity — including the need for flexibility in responding to the changing needs of our community. That vision lives on through the Salt & Light Fund, which continues his commitment to meeting urgent and emerging needs across our Catholic community with care and intention.
Scripture reminds us: “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Living in that promise means responding with trust and generosity, even when we cannot see the full picture. Thoughtful planning is one way we place our values in God’s hands and allow him to work through them.
