Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul Supports Youth Virtually

Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul

Community Priorities — April 2021

$5,000 grant to Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul for the Department of Indian Work’s American Indian Youth Enrichment (AIYE).

Interfaith Action Director of Development and Communications Amy Dillahunt writes,

“We provided culturally-specific afterschool programming for 73 youth from 43 families. This funding allowed us to continue to provide this program to families virtually during Covid. Our in-person summer program was moved to online via live Google Duo meetings, uploading videos to YouTube and delivery of activity kits. Our after-school programs were also via Zoom.

“Through collaboration with other American Indian agencies and partners like the DIW food shelf and the American Indian Family Center and youth programming partners like Sprockets, AmeriCorps VISTAs and the SPPS school district we were able to ensure our youth and their families have resources such as food, technology, mental health support, PPE and other household items needed to help them throughout distance learning and the global pandemic.”
