Use of Grant Funds

Grants (which can range from $1,000-$5,000) can be used for costs associated with capital improvements and other brick and mortar needs, including infrastructure needs associated with technology improvements.

Grant Cycle Schedule

Invitations will be accepted once per year. Applications open in January and will be due Friday, February 13, 2026. Notifications will be made in late March.

Any library within the state of Minnesota is welcome to apply.  Priority will be given to small, rural, or under-resourced libraries.

Note:some libraries receive charitable funds directly, some through the city, others through a fundraising group such as a “Friends of …”  Before you begin the application, please determine where the grant check would be sent and look up the FEIN (Tax Identification Number), name, and address, all of which is required in the application form.

Submitting your Application
