Liturgy Enhancement Grant Program
Guidelines and Goal
CCF recognizes that the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Further, research suggests that a high quality “Sunday Experience” is one of the key attributes of a vital parish. In his Pastoral Letter, Archbishop Hebda indicates we should “work to show radical hospitality before and after the Sunday Mass especially to the newcomer, the disconnected and the stranger.” He also calls on the community to offer “beautiful liturgies.” He goes on to highlight that the General Instruction of the Roman Missal states, “the beauty of the sacred place, of music, and of art should contribute as greatly as possible.”
CCF’s Liturgy Enhancement Grant Program aims to help parishes that would like to respond to this call but need financial assistance to do so.
Grant Program Details
Use of Grant Funds
Grants can range from $250 – 2,500 and may be used for costs:
- Associated with welcoming (e.g., accessibility, baby changing stations, artwork from different ethnic groups, hospitality after Mass) or
- To enhance the liturgy. These may include altar beautification, technology enhancements (e.g., sound, lighting), or resources to include music in diverse styles.
Criteria and Timeline
Applications from parishes with few resources will be prioritized, as will those serving populations at the margins of society. Grants are not intended to replace expenses already budgeted for by the parish. Projects with expenses over $3,000 will be considered if funding for the balance of the project has been identified.
Applications will be accepted immediately through May 2.
Notifications will be made after the CCF Grants Committee approves grants in mid-May, and grants will be mailed by mid-June.
